Black and White Movies

Black and White movies such as King Kong, Dracula, Frankenstein, The thing, and stuff are wonderful classics that influenced today's movie genre's...and also spawned mostly horrible remakes...with the sole except to me being King Kong released in 2006 which is a perfect cg remake of the old stop motion movie. Many movie will never give these movie's a shot because it is Black and White caring about violence and looks much more. In some movies that are black and white...and also silent, the lack of music adds to the chilling atmosphere the movie intended to do and perfectly fit the mood. The black and white movies of back then are what influenced today's movies and without them, we wouldn't have the movies we have today...and some black and white movies are better than today's movies. This is my example of Key Concept 6

Twilight

Twilight is a (horrible) vampire/werewolf teenage romance movie which has terribly influenced many people and is one of the leading, if not THE worst movie that features vampires which takes out the original aspects of old school vampire movies. Twilight is about a (dumb) girl who falls inlove with (i miss him as cedric)a guy who sparkles in the sun and doesn't turn to dust(hehehe...that would be an awesome blooper) anyways its basically about a love between a normal human girl(who does stupid stuff) and a (wannabe) vampire. While many people would read it for the romance(which still sucked by the way) many (young) girls love it because the characters are "Hot" many people these days just care about looks instead of plot and because of this many movies are going downhill. This movie while loved by (little) girls is widely hated by (nearly everyone)some people. This is my example of key concept 6(not adding a picture)

Godzilla

Godzilla is an old school black and white monster film set in japan. This film talks about a creature named godzilla who was created after a living dinosaur hidden on an island is hit by a nuke then wrecks havoc in japan. While this film may be a giant monster flick to some people. Godzilla is a movie about the actions of nuclear weapons from a country that experienced it first hand. It also tells everyone about the horror of what nuclear weapons are and why we shouldn't use it. While it won't likely cause a giant monster, it'll still cause a big impact on whatever country is hit by a nuke and will most likely wreck havoc causing more and more violence overall. Godzilla is an old but classic flick where you would have to pay attention to whats going on and what the actions of humans can do to people.

Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is a reaction time ps3 game...in a way. Heavy Rain lets you play as 4 seperate characters who are trying to find a killer called the origami killer and to find one of the characters son. This game is filled with choices which can affect what happens in the game and how the ending will happen, such as one of the main characters dying, or one of the support characters dying who was suppose to give you a hint if you didn't die. This game features lots of moral choices inorder to save said kid, such as going through a small crawl path that have glass on the floor, or driving on the opposite lane as fast as you can. This game is a psychological guessing game as to trying to figure out who the killer is by paying attention to hints you can notice if paying attention. This game represents what a father would do to rescue his child, and why people would do stuff like this. This is my example of key concept 5.

Avatar The Last Airbender

Avatar The Last Airbender is a movie based on a cartoon series going by the same name. The movie was created by M. Night Shyamalan with the intent of thinking he was pleasing the friends but in reality, changing a lot of stuff the original fans payed attention to, which the fans never wanted to see, and basically using the name to make a profit. The movie while following some events with the show in reality is just a horrible film considering that compared to other movies released the same time, the c.g is horrible. Avatar The Last Airbender suffered the same fate as other movies based off cartoons...being remade into a horrible movie which only wanted to use the name to increase their profit. This is my example of key concept 4

War of the worlds

When I mention war of the worlds, I don't mean the movies, or the books...i mean that radio show thingie..War of the worlds is about an alien attack and people's attempts to survive and destroy the aliens. While this series may be a classic this one rendition of the book...put people into shock...the way that the people presents this on the radio, they put it in a serious mood to help get people hooked in, but sadly it did the opposite it put people into shock and panic actually thinking we were getting attacked by aliens. it took them a while to calm down and once they did they were outraged by this saying that the radio show was cruel for its exact realism. Contrary to the fact, this has been done before the war of the worlds radio show started. Because of the fact it was on radio, and people didn't have movies to watch, or never read the book...they were surely suprised. if this was to happen again at this time and age, we would know its a drama and not really happening because they may try to do a live version of it on t.v using cg...which many people can recognize. this is my example of key concept 3.

Scary Movie 3

Scary movie 3 is one of those movies that parodies another movie, with this one parodying The Ring and Signs. This movie first starts off with these two girls who watched this cursed video tape seven days ago and to follow the stereotype dumb blonde thing pokes the other girls dead body asking if she is okay. the movie then shifts off to a farmer/former reverend and his clumsy brother who discovers a crop circle in his field...which plainly says in english "right here." While this movie makes references to a  lot of other movies, its main focus is on The Ring and Signs and you'll notice them mocking parts of the movie...such as the cursed video actually being mistaken for pootie tang thus it being unleashed in the world...and thee whole reason for why aliens attacking...you'll never guess....this movie portrays girls as idiots and...skanky dressers ...and guys as bigger idiots and pervs...but because this movie is a parody it usually slides by...this is my example of key concept 2

Night of the living dead

Night of the living dead is one of those classic zombie movies that is just great to watch each time. Night of the living dead is basically the film that made zombies popular. This movie starts off with a woman, and her brother visiting their mothers grave, but while visiting the grave they are attacked by a zombie, to which her brother tells her to run off and dies trying to fight the zombie. While running she finds a farmhouse only to discover the owner is dead, a man named ben who arrives in a pick up trucks, drags her into the house and barricades the windows. Inside the house they meet a family who's daughter is ill, and a teenage couple. the rest of the movie is about them defending themselves and trying to stay sane...This movie while black and white features a great plot featuring zombies as well as a psychological battle going on in their heads to stay sane and try to work together. This movie can represent reality because during events where there is a crisis going on some people lose their mind in the process and start going insane killing people at times.  this is my example of key concept 1

Bleach

Bleach is a fantasy anime about a teenager named ichigo kurosaki(voiced by johnny yong bosch...ONE OF THE POWER RANGERS FROM THE FIRST POWER RANGERS SERIES) and his power to see ghosts. one day she see's a girl in a black hakama who is suprised as no human should see her. after getting attacked by a creature called a hollow, the girl while injured tries to give a bit of her power to ichigo, but suddenly is shocked that all her power is taken and ichigo uses said power to fight the hollow. During the course of the series ichigo loses his powers and has to find a way to get his powers back, and some ex soul reaper told him of a way that involved him being in his normal spirit form but trying to search for his powers deep inside him. Because of this method ichigo becomes part hollow and has to fight to maintain his good side or give in and let the hollow side slaughter everything around him even his loved one's. Bleach while a fantasy anime shows situations in life where you may have to do something similar, basically telling us while the answer may not be the best, they don't care and will push forward. this is my example of key concept 2

Love Hina

Love hina is an anime about a guy named keitaro urashima who made a promise to a girl to marry when they enter this university during their childhood. Sadly the girl moved, and keitaro never saw her again, now he keeps trying to get into the university even though he keeps failing. The series starts off with keitaro getting a call from his grandma who tells him that he must be the manager of this inn...only to find out there are only girls. This anime portrays girls as being able to easily fall inlove with someone but not knowing their own feelings, and while they may show lots of pervertedness...the plot is actually cute as the main character hasn't forgotten a promise to his childhood friend. it features many plot cliche's such as the guy must do all the work. Overall while it may be cliche'd and perverted, the plot is great. this is my example of key concept 2

Anime

Anime in general is something looked down upon because its from another country and people don't appreciate it. Anime is the japanese equivalent of cartoon's here but in a style called "anime" which is divived into many sub style's to fit the audience the anime is aiming for. Anime is basically 50% of japanese eterntainment, with the rest being video games and normal t.v. Anime doesn't have as many fans as it does in japan compared to america and whatnot for one reason. Japanese culture and american culture are different yet very similar. while they may be completely different stuff from the outside you will find that its very similar, they both feature hero's which kid want to be, an adventure people wish happen to them, and comedic moments. Anime overall is something great, but because it came from a place that not much people understand, no one will give it a shot. this is my example of key concept 3

Naruto

Naruto...well actually every mainstream graphic novel but mostly naruto. Naruto is a series based on ninja's....infact no one actually knows when this series would take place. Anyways Naruto is about a character named, naruto uzumaki and his friends/team mates...This is one of those series which started off really well but as time passed, the author was doing whatever he can to please his friends...but infact it does the exact opposite, Naruto has become so dumb plot wise right now because it really never focus's on the main character...Naruto while a mainstream graphic novel, doesn't show interest in a lot of people and only kids. Naruto is now just made for profit instead of actual appeal to any fans. Naruto simply is one of those things that stop being good...or never was good with a lot of people...cough twilight cough. This is my example of key concept 4

Reborn!

Ah reborn...this is a graphic novel about a weak teenager named tsunayoshi, or tsuna for short. Tsuna isn't the greatest at grades to the point of failing. He's also very weak and usually bullied. When his mom hires a tutor for tsuna...he didn't expect a baby...and definately didn't expect the baby is telling him that tsuna is the tenth generation boss for a mafia!? Anyways this starts off as a gag, but later it starts growing in plot showing that even the weakest can be strong as he has to start fighting people to protect his friends. Tsuna a person with no friends would never expect this, but when he starts making friends and when they are in danger...the gloves are on(fighting style) and he'll do his best to protect. This is my example of key concept 5

Super mario brothers!

oh boy, nothing as good as a classic, this is like one of the most, if not THE most popular gaming franchise ever...of all time. Super mario brothers follows the plot of going through multiple stages to save your beloved princess peach. The main character is a plumber...but in some spin offs he is a doctor. This game follows the stereotype of the damsel in distress and that its up to the guy to save them basically...And in recent games the villain has a heart of gold but won't show it because it doesn't match his appearance. While many people usually ignore this, it puts many people into the belief that the guy should solve all the problems for the girl and that it will always be the girl who needs saving...oh boy how wrong that one is...This game is full of cliche's like this and whatnot...but i guess we're so use to it we don't mind it anymore...This is my example of key concept 2

Negima

Negima is an anime/graphic novel about a ten year old genius who teachs a class full of middle school students. and if it doesn't add to much of a shock, the kid knows magic! Anyways this series may have a good plot, but there are also lots of moments of pervertedness which drive many people away. This is one of those series that rely on building up as while there are moments of pervertedness which seem nonstop, it helps lighten the mood when reading this series from the darkness of some parts of the plot. Many people would probably dismiss this series because of the perverted stuff, but if they look past that, they will get a great plot and many twists and turns. This is an example of key concept 6

Fable

Fable is a series using the concept of multiple paths such as good guy bad guy. Fable is a game about a young kid wanting to be a hero, or wanting to be an evil person.Fable features a bar which tells you if your doing good actions, or bad actions and depending on which way you go you can either get something like an halo or devil horns. The main hero is usually put to tasks from people about either killing or defeating a bunch of people then decide if you want to spare them or kill them yourselves. You can also save people from slave camps and either defend a town or join in on the attack of the town. This game is just full of either "good" or "bad" guy stuff...Which makes this game fun. this is an example of key concept 1

No more heroes

No more heroes is a new series on the nintedo wii...But because its on the nintendo wii many people will probably never play it because "nintendo is kiddy." No more heroes is actually a violent game involving the killing people with a beam sword. It has a lot of jokes within it also, as well as fun minigames and a basic but awesome plot. This game is about a hitman named travis touchdown who is your average videogamer anime watcher person. He won a bid on ebay for a beam sword and realizes he has no money, so he accepts a job as a hitman and works his way up to number one. While the plot may be simple its full of epic and funny moments as well as a giant twist around the end part of the game. No more heroes is not your simple nintendo game but a violent game full of stuff you'd never expect on nintendo. This is my example of key concept 3

Final Fantasy

Oh boy...flame shield up for this one. final fantasy is one of the most recognized role playing franchise first starting on the nintendo entertainment system. Final fantasy may be popular towards many people but they usually only focus on graphics instead of game play and plot. Many older fans probably will say that they prefer the original 6 games that were 2d as the plots for them were amazing, the combat was simple yet fun, and also that there are some hard moments as well. Some prefer the first ten games as the plots were amazing, but not as good as the first 6, the combat was a bit complex at first but still fun, and because its still a bit true to the original series. Final fantasy from there on after was just to earn profit by making people by their new games...But because they changed everything so much making it really different from the original games, most original fans gave up on final fantasy. Now final fantasy games are just here to make money on people who don't know what is a good game. This is my example for key concept 6

Kingdom hearts

Kingdom Hearts is a series co-created by Disney. Kingdom hearts is about a young teenager named Sora who is trying to find his friends by visiting many worlds based on disney movies. Kingdom hearts promotes that friends are your drive to keep on going, and that No matter how deep in the darkness one is, there's always a small light. While the whole concept may be cheesy, kingdom hearts promotes the value of friendship. Kingdom hearts also shows multiple points of views from the side of light, and the side of dark. Some quotes used in the kingdom hearts franchise can help strengthen or add to people's values. such quotes as:

Sora :"i don't need a weapon, i got a better one, MY HEART!"

Badguy: "Your heart, what can that weak little thing do?"

Sora: "Although my heart may be weak, it's not alone. It's grown with each new experience. And it's found a home with all the friends I've made. I've become a part of their heart, just as they've become a part of mine. And if they think of me now and then, if they don't forget me, then our hearts will be one. I don't need a weapon. My friends are my power!"

And another is

Sora: "The heart may be weak, and sometimes it may even give in, but deep down there's a light that never goes out!"

While those quotes may be cliche they actually can help encourage people to stay positive and make friends. This is an example of key concept 5 as the message of kingdom hearts contains values that everyone can follow.

Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil 5 is a Zombie survival game mixed with shooter elements. The Resident Evil Franchise never had received as much messages of accusations with previous games but with Resident Evil 5, many people accused this game of being racist towards black people. To further explain this, the Resident Evil franchise is about a group of people who try to survive a zombie attack and escape, the first 2 games being in a forest and mansion, the middle 2 taking place in a city, and the last 2 taking place in different countries. The last two games aren't like the previous games as you have to rescue someone, but as you progress through the game you learn that the cause of the incidents throughout all the games were all the same antagonist. This game won't be understood by people who just play the game as compared to people who played the whole series. Because of this the people who play the game know why it takes place in Africa. This is an example of key concept 6, as many people will view this game from a different angle.
